Scholten & Baijings

The design firm of Stefan Scholten and Carole Baijings has been active since 2000. Scholten was formerly part of the duo Copray & Scholten, whose furniture has been exhibited in cities such as Milan, London, Paris and San Francisco. Their work can be seen in the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam and the Centraal Museum in Utrecht, the Netherlands.
   

Bloom vase



The Bloom vase was designed for the European Ceramic Work Centre’s project Dutch Souvenirs*. The designers took inspiration from the colours, textures and shapes of various flowers. The design – an amalgam of these different forms – and the porcelain manufacture were realised with the aid of a computer.

*For the Dutch Souvenirs project, Bloom was filled with the old Dutch liqueur Vergeet mij niet, made by Amsterdam’s A. van Wees Distillery de Ooievaar, established in 1782.
